The <section> tag

<section> groups thematically related content. Unlike div, it carries semantic meaning — it's an actual section of the document.

Syntax

<section>...</section>

Example

<section>
  <h2>Our services</h2>
  <p>Service description...</p>
</section>

Notes

If a block has no natural heading (h2-h6) and isn't a self-contained thematic unit, it's probably a div, not a section.
Don't reach for section purely for styling purposes — that's what div is for.

Accessibility

section without an aria-label or heading doesn't get a clear region ARIA role — add a heading for better screen reader navigation.
